Chicago White Sox

Chicago White Sox

Alright guys, I need a little help with this one. and I had trouble condensing them all into a reasonable number of uniforms. First off, pinstripes are used on the home and road uniforms. I went with the old style font for the numbers and road wordmark to match the pre-existing Sox logo. I also made a new alternate logo that can be found on the sleeves. It is a C with the diamond and white socks in the middle. The alternates is were it gets tricky. I have a black home alternate (C logo with black pants and white cap), a road alternate (Sox logo with black C cap), white pinstriped vest, and cream fauxback. Finally, the BP uses more gray and the C logo.

Chicago Cubs

Chicago Cubs

I have never been much of a fan of the Cubs' primary logo. The Cubs in the circle seems really dated to me. I also don't think it looks very good on a jersey. I used the C/bear logo on the home jersey, the road is pretty much the same, but with a red-billed hat. The blue alternate remains and I added 3 new alternates, all inspired by past uniforms. White vest, cream pinstripes, and navy. The BP is blue with the C logo.

Boston Red Sox

Boston Red Sox

For as classic of a uniform set as the Red Sox have, it has it's flaws. IMO, color balance is the biggest one. It seems as if the Sawks are stuck between being a navy team or a red team. I went with a red cap at home and a navy cap on the road, hopefully that helps balance the color better right of the bat. Secondly I made the road wordmark red, rather than the current navy. I also added the hanging socks patch to the sleeves. Included are 3 alternate options: red, navy, and white vest. I'm not sure about the white sleeveless jersey, but I thought it looked good so I included it. The BP jersey uses the B logo on the chest, something I think looks great.

Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore Orioles

The O's current unis are great. I really like the changes they made a few years ago. But I still feel there is room for improvement. For starters, the oriole logo is way underrated, IMO. I kept that on the hat and added to the sleeve. The home, road, and black alternate are pretty much the same, with a few minor changes. I added an orange alternate and a white sleeveless alternate, a nod to the past. Included is a multicolored hat and alternate helmet. The BP uniform uses the O's logo.

Atlanta Braves

Atlanta Braves

For starters, the Braves' look is great. The piping is unique and the logos and wordmarks fit nicely together. There are a few things I would change though. First, I modified the colors. I used a darker navy, which as actually listed as an alternate color (thanks to Colorwerx). The dark navy replaces the regular navy, a move the serves 2 purposes. It is a nod to the history of the team, when they used black and red, and it separates them a little from the other navy and red teams.

The home and road are pretty much the same as currently. On the red alternate I switched the colors around so the script is white outlined in navy. I think this stands out better. The home alternate is a retro-inspired uniform, featuring navy sleeves and a white front-panel hat. There is also a navy version.

Arizona Diamondbacks

Baseball is here, and so is my annual MLB concept series. Enjoy!

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks once had the coolest color scheme in the league, IMO. Then they switched to a color set very similar to another NL team. The new logos are good, but I’m not a fan of the wordmarks. Here, I used the old colors, replacing copper with sand. New wordmarks and modified logos are included. The uniforms feature a trim design based off of an old alternate. Cream is used rather than white. Purple is the primary home color while black is the primary road color. Teal is used very little except for the BP set. I am using the old BP design; I like it better than the newest one. The alternate hat uses the old snake head logo, from my favorite BP cap of all time. The white alternate is a tribute to the 2001 World Series unis.

NHL All Star Jerseys

Happy NHL All Star weekend! The first ever Fantasy Draft was held yesterday. Captains picked their teams from the available players. Anyway, I put together a concept that fixes the uniforms. It keeps the same basic ideas, but simplifies things a bit.

Happy Birthday NHL 3rd Jersey!

That's right, today is the birthday of the NHL 3rd jersey program. The 15th birthday, to be exact. On January 27, 1996, the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Mighty Ducks played each other, each team wearing brand new 3rd jerseys. It had never been done before. Marketing in the NHL reached a whole new level. The Kings came out in the infamous "Burger King jerseys", while Anaheim wore their "Wild Wing jerseys". Both designs were radical and different.

Both jerseys did not last long, only being used that one season. The NHL 3rd program, however, did survive. It did more than just survive; today it is the cornerstone of marketing in hockey. Many teams have capitalized on a 3rd jersey, quite a few of which have gone on to become the primary home jersey for various teams.

Others, not so much. Several 3rde jerseys did not achieve the success the team had hoped for. A handful of 3rd jerseys have been considered failures, especially those that were rarely worn and quickly retired.

Today, most teams have a 3rd jersey. It is such a great marketing tool that teams cannot pass them up. Personally, I think the 3rd jersey program is one of the best things to ever happen to hockey jerseys. I own several 3rd jerseys myself. Be sure to check them out at Bmac's Jerseys.

When I was in Toronto I went to the Hockey Hall of Fame. I could not pass up an opportunity to get a pic with Wild Wing.

NHL 2012: 2012 All Star Game

2012 All Star Game -Ottawa, Ontario

The logo is the same as the real one. The uniforms are inspired by Ottawa's barberpole theme.
