The Minnesota Twins won their opening game at Target Field, and then went on to win the series. The Twins beat the Red Sox 5-2 on Monday, with Carl Pavano getting the win and Jon Rauch getting the save. Jason Kubel and Joe Mauer both had 3 hits and 2 RBIs in the Target Field opener. On Wednesday, Boston defeated the Twins 6-3, with Kevin Slowey as the losing pitcher. The Twins won 8-0 on Thursday to win the series. Francisco Liriano recorded the win. The Twins had a very successful opening series in their new home. And you have to love those throwbacks!
Stats:
Joe Mauer: 4 hits, 3 RBIs
Jason Kubel: 5 hits, 2 RBIs, HR
Michael Cuddyer: 5 hits, 5 RBIs, 2 HRs
Jon Rauch: 1 save
My series MVP: Michael Cuddyer, you can't argue with those kind of numbers. 5 hits, 5 RBIs, and 2 homers.
