2012 NHL Winter Classic Concept

Lot's of concepts to post! This is part of my NHL 2012 series, I wanted to post it around the same time as this year's Winter Classic.

2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic -January 1, 2012
Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Logos:

The primary logo features a look at Target Field and downtown Minneapolis. The five stars represent the 5 Winter Classics, this being the 5th. The alternate logo features both team's logos in circles.




Uniforms:

The Wild's uniforms are inspired by the 1923-1925 Minneapolis Millers uniforms. The Avalanche model a white version of the team's first alternate jerseys.

NHL 2012: Pittsburgh Penguins

2011: A new alternate jersey is introduced. It is powder blue, in a design similar to the home and road. The primary logo is used as the crest.

2012: New home and road uniforms are unveiled. They match the powder blue alternate jersey in design. A gold alternate jersey is also released. It features a circular logo, based off of the retro logo from the Winter Classic.

NHL 2012: Phoenix Coyotes

Phoenix Coyotes

2011: New home and road jerseys that feature a pattern similar to their original jerseys. Black is worn at home. A red alternate is introduced, a simple design with the alternate circle logo.

2012: A sand-colored alternate is unveiled. The paw logo is the crest, very little black is found on the jersey. 2012 appears to be the end of NHL hockey in Phoenix, as rumors of a move north continue to swirl.

NHL 2012: Philadelphia Flyers

2011: The home and road are matching retro-based uniforms. The alternate is black, slightly modified from the original black jerseys.

2012: A new alternate jersey is unveiled. It is off-white, with black and orange striping. The Flyers script is inspired by the old Philadelphia Quakers script.

NHL 2012: Ottawa Senators

Ottawa Senators

2011: New home and road uniforms are unveiled. They bring back the striping design from the Sens' pre-Edge alternates. A black jersey in the same design is worn as well, almost as often as the regular red home jersey.

2012: A gold alternate jersey is introduced. It is inspired by the original Senators' jerseys.

Minnesota North Stars Design Contest

"The task is simple: design the uniforms of the Minnesota North Stars if they were to enter the NHL today. All entries must include a home and road jersey. Alternate jerseys and extra equipment (helmets, pants, gloves, socks) are optional. You can do whatever you want, have fun!"

NHL 2012: New York Rangers

New York Rangers

2011: A new alternate jersey is unveiled. It is navy, with a simple white/red/white pattern throughout. The Lady Liberty logo has been modified and is used as the crest. The classic diagonal Rangers is used as a shoulder patch.

2012: A white version of the alternate is released. The Rangers also make minor changes to the home and road uniforms, most notably matching the stripes on the jerseys.

NHL 2012: New York Islanders

New York Islanders

2011: As expected, the home and road uniforms now match. A new navy alternate uniform is unveiled. It features the 4-stripe Cup championship pattern throughout.

2012: An alternate orange jersey is released. The logo is taken out of the circle, and used as the crest.

NHL 2012: New Jersey Devils

2011: The St. Patrick's Day throwback becomes a full-time alternate uniform.

2012: The classic NJ logo is updated, as are the uniforms. A black alternate jersey was proposed, but it was scrapped before the season.

Anaheim Ducks Concept

Sometimes you just feel like doing a short concept and posting it. This is one of those times. Yesterday I acquired an old Anaheim Mighty Ducks alternate jersey. Today, I made a little concept based off of that jersey. It is basically the same template, in RBK Edge form, with the current colors and logos. Not much, but I like it.

UNO Mavericks Logo Concept

Waaay back in June of 2009, I posted one of my first concepts. It was a circular logo for the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Type in "uno mavericks" in google, go to images, and there it is, currently the 4th image. That's cool and all, but I can do way better. That original logo isn't even a perfect circle. So, I modified it. The original logo has made it's way well around the internet, and I recently found other people using it for avatars and such. Hopefully someday it is replaced by this new one.
